Hartland is a typical Devon Town with a small collection of shops and pubs around 2.5 miles off the A39. Charter house is in the Square in very heart of Hartland in a conservation area with many other listed properties. Some of North Devon's most picturesque coastline is easily accessible with many striking bays where you can spend many an hour fishing or exploring the rock pools. Hartland Quay Hotel and pub together with a small museum is a great location to visit where you can also spend the day on the beach with the family. At the end of the day is a perfect location to watch some spectacular sunsets. There are numerous places of interest in the local area which including Hartland Abbey, founded in 1157 by Augustinian monks and Docton Mill and gardens.

Alternatively you can discover the attractive harbour at Clovelly, where you may also be able to hire a fishing boat.
The port and market town of Bideford is approximately 15 miles away with the seaside town of Bude in the opposite direction the same distance away. Barnstaple North Devon's principle town is approximately 26 miles from Hartland.
